The Leadership Gap
South Africa is in a mess due to lack of leadership …
… and let me add:
South Africa is in a mess due to indifference too…
These are two of the most dreadful social disorders that we have perpetrated against ourselves since human #1.
A leadership vacuum (often filled by anti-leaders and misleaders), intertwined with masses of people who choose to do nothing, is a recipe for, diplomatically speaking, a mess.
Lest those reading this note from outside South Africa imagine South Africa is alone, it is the same across the globe—south to north and east to west.
The headline in the infographic above is merely one of hundreds on offer from around the world—all reflecting a similar theme:
There is a leadership gap!
The questions abound:
- What to do?
- Who must lead?
- Where are the leaders?
- Why is leadership scarce?
- Why is there a leadership gap wherever we look?
- Are you leading?
- Are you one of the indifferent?
- If you have chosen to lead, are you equipped to lead properly?
- If you have taken the Alpha Journey, are you an activist—leadership moment by leadership moment—or gone back to your old ways?
It is precisely because ‘there is a mess’ in our homes, communities, workplaces and countries that we have created the Influential Leadership System.
Influential Leadership does three fundamental things:
- It conscientizes us that we can transition from being indifferent to being activists—being part of the solution. This is the power of Social Agency.
- It equips us with the capability to lead—the ‘tool set’ comes with Alpha.
It gives us leadership eyes and ears wherever and whoever we are.
Let us change the headline… it is up to you and me.
South Africa is in great shape due to leadership…
