Carl Jung, the Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist who founded analytic psychology, offers us an astute answer to the age-old question of:
What is the purpose of human existence?
As far as we can discern,
the sole purpose of human existence
is to kindle a light of meaning in
the darkness of mere being.
To Kindle is to…
Activate, ignite, shine, start…
The meaning of life is not something given to us, it is what each person creates through a personal choice, followed by concerted and concrete actions.
Influential Leadership advocates that whatever meaning we choose, it must kindle light—in our own lives, and of course for the people and circumstances around us.
The light of Leadership is to change things for the better, to shine furthest and brightest in the darkest places, for ourselves and others.
BTW: Did you know that in the darkest night the naked eye can see a lit match from almost three kilometres away?
Whoever you are,
